Leeds Festival of Kindness

As part of our school vision we want our children to become good citizens with a strong moral compass. In order to do this, we believe in making links with our community. 

This Autumn we participated in the Kinder Leeds Festival in order to spread some joy throughout our local area. Children across school all took part in different ways. We made Welcome packs, information leaflets and Worry dolls for some local refugees. We created Artwork for the local nursing home. We made cards and pictures for the people living in the local sheltered housing and much more!

Artsmark

As part of our vision, we believe that the arts and culture make difference to young people’s lives, we have recently achieved a Gold Artsmark accreditation. Working with our partner school within the Brighsaw Learning Partnership, we have engaged in a programme of staff development in drawing, painting and sculpting. This has led us to restructure our art curriculum to provide opportunities for staff to use these newly acquired skills with the children.
